Every effort is made to control your child’s sugar intake during the school day. We try to provide the children with fresh fruits and vegetables whenever possible, and to limit the foods containing artificial additives.

Cakes may be sent in, or we will be happy to allow your child to bake a cake at school for his or her birthday party. Presents should not be brought to these parties. Parents may provide extra treats such as ice cream, party favors, or games.

PARENT NOTIFICATIONS

Parents will be notified by telephone for emergencies and events or school functions by letter or verbal communication, also email.

ACCIDENT POLICY

Every effort is made to safeguard the children from any mishap. Any type of injury, however, will be reported to the parent on occurrence by phone and documented by an accident report

EMERGENCIES

We call the parents, inform them of injury and we meet them at the closest hospital. We take a copy of the child’s medical permission form

ABSENCE, ILLNESS AND RELEASE

The health, safety, and welfare of all of our children is our primary concern. We request that children who have excessive nasal discharge, draining ears, eye infections, diarrhea, vomiting, harsh or persistent cough, fever, or rash remain home until cleared by a physician. Children who are not well enough to be involved in outdoor play should be cared for at home. The office should be notified when your child misses school, when your child is ill, and what the diagnosis and plan of treatment is.

PLEASE REPORT ANY COMMUNICABLE DISEASES PROMPTLY

If a child must receive medication at school, please make sure:

IMMUNIZATION

All children must be immunized unless medical or religious reasons exist. If this is so we must have original affidavit on file at our school

Currently, only the TB vaccine is required by the staff when hired.
